ACR/Joint Commission/ICANL Accreditation Support
One of our core areas of service and expertise is ACR, Joint Commission, and ICANL accreditation support. As all facilities are required to be accredited, it is important to have qualified physicists whom you can trust to do the job properly and responsibly. KGHP provides comprehensive support for all ACR, Joint Commission, and ICANL accreditation programs, including those for nuclear medicine, PET and PET/CT. KGHP has physicists with specialty boards in nuclear instrumentation who oversee all camera and scanner testing. Our goal is to assure that your imaging system, whether simple or complex, is functioning properly, your reconstruction algorithms are optimal and your technologists are provided with the proper ongoing quality assurance assistance.
Initial Performance Testing
Because performance naturally degrades over time, no system will ever run better than it does at installation. Therefore, it is imperative that you get the best possible performance out of your system at the time of install. Although equipment manufacturers provide a series of tests to run at installation, that is not enough to ensure that the lifespan of your equipment is maximized.
Our well-qualified physicists represent five (5) different specialty boards and all have advanced degrees ranging from Masters to Doctorate. Our academic excellence and strength in numbers combined with our physicists’ wide range of technical experience provides our clients with timely, exceptional response times and access to an unrivaled breadth of expertise and unsurpassed diagnostic abilities. Acceptance testing by a KGHP physicist is prudent if you want to get the full advantage of your multi-million dollar purchase.
Periodic Audits
Nothing replaces a physical visit to your facility in order to ensure a safe environment and one that is compliant with federal and state regulations. In addition to a full regulatory audit, a KGHP physicist will evaluate counting systems, maintain a current inventory of all sealed sources, and test these sources for leakage. Our physicists provide radiation safety refresher and DOT training when needed.
Radioactive Materials Licensing
Whether you are applying for a new license, renewing or seeking an amendment, KGHP provides ongoing license support for PET, Nuclear Medicine, and Cardiology facilities (for possession and use of radioactive materials). Regardless of your location, our staff is familiar with all licensing requirements, whether State or Federal. KGHP also advises facilities on the proper procedures for the receipt, storage, use and disposal of licensed material.
