Current Open Positions
Position 1: Diagnostic Medical Physicist
Krueger-Gilbert Health Physics, a dynamic and growing diagnostic medical physics group, has several openings for diagnostic medical physicists based in our core markets (MD, VA and DC).
KGHP’s Diagnostic Medical Physicists support 400+ clients primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region (MD, VA, DC, WV, PA & DE). We strive to give our clients “peace of mind” that all of their diagnostic medical physics needs are addressed. Our physicists must manage several different clients, respond to diverse and complex questions and drive our clients towards the highest in standards for their imaging and radiation safety programs.
KGHP may be the perfect place for you to start or continue your career if you value and demonstrate:
- Client responsiveness
- Technical expertise
- High standards
- Self-starters
- Teamwork
Our physicists have the flexibility to live anywhere in our core market, and unlike many consulting firms, you get to set your schedule to best fit your client’s and your needs. Our management and administrative teams in the home office in Maryland will support you 100% in serving our clients.
We work hard to try to achieve work/life balance, and though travel is extensive (3-5 days a week), it is mostly day travel with only a few days of overnight travel per quarter. You get home most nights to spend time with those you care about most.
A day in the life of a KGHP physicist may consist of:
- Quality assurance testing of diagnostic imaging equipment;
- Support of mammography, MRI, CT, US, and nuclear medicine accreditation programs;
- Radiation safety surveys of nuclear medicine operations, regulatory interpretation and license support;
- Radiation Safety Officer support services;
- Patient/staff radiation dose calculations; and
- Shielding design
Technical qualifications for this position include a master’s degree in Medical Physics, Chemistry, or a Physical Science and be Board Certified (or in the process of becoming Board Certified) by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in Diagnostic Radiology; and experience in radioactive materials (preferably from a nuclear medicine department). Experience in conducting equipment performance tests is a plus.
In addition to the technical requirements, KGHP physicists must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interpret regulations, and most importantly, a willingness to go “above and beyond” for their clients and fellow colleagues.
We offer excellent salaries and bonus opportunities, as well as medical, dental, and vision insurance and a 401k plan. Relocation assistance is offered for this position. We have also invested heavily in providing the best testing equipment to our physicists.
