Biography
Andrew Gearhart has enjoyed many years studying physics. After obtaining his undergraduate degree in Physics, he went on to obtain a Master’s degree in physics where he focused on research in proton computed tomography. His research in medical imaging fueled his desire to pursue a Professional Doctorate in Diagnostic Medical Physics from Vanderbilt University. His research interests included the simulation of semiconductor detectors for SPECT imaging and the simulation of pediatric thyroid dose from CT. Clinically, Andrew is interested in CT dose optimization, quantitative image quality assessment, and physics education.
